People and dog portraits, wildlife, sports and candids at corporate events are among my favorite subjects to shoot. I operate both in-studio as well as on-site at many of the beautiful locations in our area.

Among many other things my father did with excellence, he was a top-notch photographer. Never a professional, he shot for his own enjoyment of the hobby. He didn’t believe in steering his children into his own interest, but to allow us to find for ourselves the activities that made us happy.

Sometime in my teens, I discovered the joy of photography.

Into my college years and beyond, I loved to have a camera with me and take photographs of anything I deemed photo-worthy. And when photographing people, I always had the photo lab print two copies – one for me and one to share with the subject. Making other people happy with the results of my hobby, in turn, made me very happy.

John Maxwell writes in his book “Leadership Gold, Lessons I’ve Learned from a Lifetime of Leadership”, “Find something you like to do so much that you would gladly do it for nothing; then learn to do it so well that people are happy to pay you for it.”

After two careers, one in ministry and another in biotech quality assurance, a layoff and the realization that I had a skill that I loved and excelled at that people would pay for brought me to the place where I started planning a new venture.

The studio opened in our basement in May of 2025 and it’s been a hard, but fun ride making people smile when they look at a photograph.
